Method
Syrup Preparation
- 1
Make the Blackberry Syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh blackberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water.
- 2
Simmer the Mixture
Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar fully dissolves.
- 3
Mash and Strain
Once the mixture has boiled for about 10 minutes, remove from heat. Use a fork to mash the blackberries to release their juices. Let it cool slightly, then strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds.
- 4
Cool the Syrup
Allow the syrup to cool completely before using. You can store any leftover syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Margarita Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Glasses
If desired, rim your glasses with salt. To do this, rub a lime wedge along the rim of each glass and then dip it into a plate of salt.
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a blender, combine 1 cup of fresh lime juice, 2 cups of tequila, 1 cup of triple sec, and 1 cup of the prepared blackberry syrup.
- 7
Add Ice and Blend
Add 3 cups of ice to the blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the ice is crushed.
- 8
Serve
Pour the blackberry lime margarita into the prepared glasses and garnish with lime wedges.
