Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream and Nutella. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and well combined, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Whisk the Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the warm Nutella cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture while whisking continuously to temper the eggs. Mix until fully combined.

  4. 4

    Bake the Brûlée

Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Pour the mixture into ramekins (about 6) and place them in a baking dish. Fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly jiggly.

  5. 5

    Cool and Chill

Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool at room temperature. Once cool, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  6. 6

    Caramelize the Top

Before serving, sprinkle a thin layer of brown sugar on top of each chilled crème brûlée. Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy, golden crust. If you don’t have a torch, you can broil them in the oven for a couple of minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

  7. 7

    Serve

Let the caramelized sugar cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy your Nutella crème brûlée!
