Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Roast

Pat the beef roast dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the roast.

  3. 3

    Season the Roast

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme. Rub this mixture over the entire surface of the roast.

  4. 4

    Sear the Roast

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the roast on all sides until browned (about 4-5 minutes per side).

  5. 5

    Roast in the Oven

Place the seared roast in a roasting pan. Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the pan. Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.

  6. 6

    Rest the Meat

Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the roast against the grain and serve with the pan juices.
