Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Mixture

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth. Stir in the cooked quinoa, grated carrot, diced red bell pepper, minced garlic, and chopped green onion. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Season and Add Bindings

Add cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs (or oat flour) to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs or oat flour until it holds together.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each burger bun. Add the cooked veggie patty, followed by tomato and avocado slices. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
