Chicken Tenders
House Gravy
Method
Chicken Tenders Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- 2
Coat the Chicken
Dip each chicken tender into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken tenders in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- 4
Add Cheese and Bacon
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the hot chicken tenders while they are still on the draining rack. Let it melt slightly.
House Gravy Preparation
- 5
Make the Gravy
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
