Fried Chicken

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, add the chicken thighs and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Flour Mixture

In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing firmly to ensure a good coating.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken into the hot oil. Fry for 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Make Honey Butter

In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1/4 cup of honey. Mix until well combined.

  7. 7

    Prepare Biscuits

Make your favorite biscuit recipe or use store-bought biscuits, baking them according to package instructions.

  8. 8

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Slice the biscuits in half, place a fried chicken thigh on each biscuit bottom, drizzle with honey butter, and top with the biscuit tops.

  9. 9

    Serve with Breakfast Tots

Serve the sandwiches with a side of breakfast tots for a complete meal.
