Baguette Preparation

Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape the Baguette
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long baguette.

Second Rise
Place the shaped baguettes on a lined baking sheet. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Bake
Make shallow cuts on the top of the baguettes and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.

Prepare Butter
In a mixing bowl, soften the unsalted butter. Add fresh herbs and salt. Mix until well combined.

Transfer the herb butter to a container and refrigerate until firm.
