Cooking Pasta

Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni and cook according to package directions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the macaroni in a colander and set aside.
Making Cheese Sauce

Add Flour
Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute to form a roux.

Add Milk
Slowly pour in 2 cups of milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue to stir until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Cheese
Remove the pot from heat and add 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.

Season the Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Mix well to combine.
Combining

Mix Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is fully coated with the creamy cheese mixture.

Transfer the mac and cheese to serving bowls and enjoy warm.
