Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix until well combined but do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato and drizzle with ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 7

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Press down gently to secure the layers.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with extra ketchup and mustard on the side.
