Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Meat
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing up during grilling.
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
- 4
Grill the Patties
Place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned and slightly charred. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- 5
Prepare the Toppings
While the patties are grilling, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on a burger bun. Top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few onion rings, and pickles. Add the top half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a salad.
