Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined. Form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burger Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty to melt.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté the Jalapeños

In a small skillet, heat a teaspoon of oil over medium heat. Add sliced jalapeños and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are softened.

  2. 4

    Prepare Sriracha Mayo

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and Sriracha until well combined. Adjust the amount of Sriracha to taste.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, sautéed jalapeños, tomato slices, and onion slices. Drizzle with Sriracha mayo and top with the top bun.
