Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and shape them into balls. Season each ball with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Smash the Patties

Place the beef balls onto the hot grill or skillet. Using a spatula, smash each ball down firmly to form a patty. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until a crust forms.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties finish cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of the toasted buns. Top with pickles and cover with the top half of the buns.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with your choice of side.
