Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cast-iron skillet or an oven-safe skillet with butter or non-stick spray.

Make the Cookie Dough
In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and egg, mixing until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Bake the Cookie
Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared skillet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Top the warm skillet cookie with scoops of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately and enjoy!
