Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Form the mixture into a patty that is 8 oz in weight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover to melt.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger bun lightly on the grill or skillet. Place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slice, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on the burger.

French Fry Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to resemble French fries. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the potato strips in batches and fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them and drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste and toss gently to coat evenly.
