In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Whisk together until well blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine and Stir
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Cooking Pancakes

Heat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a bit of butter or oil.

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
