Toppings
Method
Prepare the Tortilla Chips
- 1
Cut the Tortillas
Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to create triangles.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- 3
Fry the Chips
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- 4
Drain and Season
Remove the fried tortilla chips with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt to taste.
Assemble the Nachos
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Layer the Chips
On a large baking sheet, spread a layer of the crispy tortilla chips evenly.
- 7
Add Cheese
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the chips.
- 8
Add Jalapeños
Distribute the jalapeños over the cheese layer.
- 9
Add More Cheese
Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
- 10
Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
- 11
Plate the Nachos
Remove the nachos from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- 12
Serve with Salsa
Serve the nachos warm with salsa on the side for dipping.
