Roasted Garlic

Method

Preparing Roasted Garlic

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic

Take the two garlic bulbs and cut off the top 1/4 inch of each bulb to expose the cloves inside.

  3. 3

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Place the garlic bulbs on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

  4. 4

    Wrap and Roast

Wrap the garlic bulbs tightly in the foil and place them in the preheated oven. Roast for about 30-35 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and golden brown.

Cooking the Mushrooms

  1. 5

    Prepare the Mushrooms

While the garlic is roasting, clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth. Cut larger mushrooms in half or quarters for even cooking.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the cleaned mushrooms, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 7

    Cook Until Golden

Sauté the mushrooms for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and tender.

  4. 8

    Add Fresh Thyme

Stir in the fresh thyme during the last minute of cooking to enhance the flavor.

Combining and Serving

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

Once the garlic is done roasting, unwrap it and let it cool slightly. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins into the skillet with the mushrooms.

  2. 10

    Mix Well

Stir the roasted garlic into the mushrooms until well combined.

  3. 11

    Serve Hot

Serve the mushrooms and roasted garlic warm as a side dish or as a topping for bread or pasta.
