Method

Preparing the Fish

  1. 1

    Dredge the Fish

Season the white fish fillets with salt and black pepper. Dredge each fillet in all-purpose flour, shaking off the excess.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Fish

Add the floured fish fillets to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Brown Butter Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Brown the Butter

Cook the butter, stirring frequently, until it becomes a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Almonds

Stir in the sliced almonds and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the almonds are toasted and fragrant.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 7

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, sauté the minced garlic in a little olive oil over medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the green beans or asparagus and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Place the sautéed fish fillets on plates, drizzle with the brown butter almond sauce, and serve alongside the sautéed vegetables.

  2. 9

    Garnish (optional)

You can garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges for added flavor.
