Method
Pasta and Chicken Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- 2
Cook the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Remove from the skillet and let them rest before slicing into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet used for chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Add Cheese and Seasoning
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste.
Combining and Serving
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce and toss until the pasta is well coated. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fettuccine Alfredo and top with sliced chicken. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
