Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

1

Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

2

Add Croutons and Cheese

Sprinkle the croutons evenly over the torn lettuce. Grate the parmesan cheese and add it to the bowl, reserving some for garnish if desired.

Dressing Preparation

3

Make the Caesar Dressing

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic clove, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

4

Add Parmesan to Dressing

Add the additional 0.25 cup of grated parmesan cheese to the dressing mixture and whisk until fully incorporated.

Combine and Serve

5

Toss the Salad

Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad base in the bowl. Gently toss the salad using tongs or a large spoon until the lettuce, croutons, and cheese are evenly coated with the dressing.

6

Serve

Garnish with extra parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately as a fresh side dish or light meal.
