Method

Candied Bacon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Candied Bacon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and black pepper. Dredge each slice of bacon in the mixture, ensuring it's well coated. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy and caramelized. Allow to cool.

Poached Egg

  1. 2

    Poach the Eggs

In a large saucepan, bring water and vinegar to a gentle simmer. Crack each egg into a small bowl, then gently slide it into the water. Poach for about 3-4 minutes for a runny yolk or longer for firmer yolks. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels.

Burger Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet. On the bottom half of each bun, place a burger patty with melted cheese, followed by a generous portion of Village Hash and 2 slices of candied bacon. Top with a poached egg and close with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
