Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Trim any excess fat from the beef tenderloin and cut it into bite-sized tips.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Chop the Rosemary

Finely chop the fresh rosemary leaves, removing any tough stems.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Sear the Beef

Add the beef tenderloin tips to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.

  3. 6

    Add Garlic and Rosemary

Add the minced garlic and chopped rosemary to the pan, stirring to combine with the beef.

  4. 7

    Season the Beef

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the beef tenderloin tips, stirring to ensure even coating.

  5. 8

Optional - Add Butter and Red Wine

If using, add the butter to the pan and allow it to melt, then pour in the red wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.

  6. 9

    Add Mushrooms (Optional)

If using, add the mushrooms to the pan and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are tender.

  7. 10

    Finish Cooking

Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
