Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Make a well in the center, add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and stir until the dough begins to come together.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- 4
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a thin round shape. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper.
- 5
Add the Toppings
Spread the mascarpone cheese evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheese on top. Add minced garlic, chopped basil, and season with black pepper.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve hot.
