Bread Ingredients

Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 30-40 minutes until it has risen slightly again.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake the Bread

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.

  9. 9

    Cool the Bread

Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  10. 10

    Slice and Serve

Once completely cooled, slice the bread as desired and serve.
