Burger Patty

Mushroom Topping

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Mushroom Topping

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced mushrooms and garlic. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender.

  2. 4

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the fresh thyme, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  2. 6

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On each burger bun, layer with lettuce, a cooked patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
