Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Add the boneless chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are completely submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the fridge and let it drain. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
Frying the Chicken

- 6
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the breaded chicken thighs to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Drain the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Making the Honey Garlic Sauce
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, cornstarch, and water. Stir until well combined.
