Burger Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are incorporated without overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cooking the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip them over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Adding Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toasting the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for added flavor.

  2. 7

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
