Brownie Batter

Method

Brownie Batter Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. 2

    Melt Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars

In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup brown sugar. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 2 large eggs and 2 tsp vanilla extract to the sugar mixture. Mix until smooth.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup cocoa powder, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp baking powder.

  6. 6

    Fold in Dry Ingredients

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.

  1. 7

In a mixing bowl, cream together 0.5 cup unsalted butter, 0.5 cup granulated sugar, and 0.5 cup brown sugar until fluffy.

  2. 8

Add 1 large egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.

  3. 9

In another bowl, combine 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 0.5 tsp baking soda, and 0.25 tsp salt.

  4. 10

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined. Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 11

    Layer the Mixtures

Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan. Then, dollop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.

  2. 12

    Swirl Together

Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cookie dough into the brownie batter to create a marbled effect.

  3. 13

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  4. 14

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brookie to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
