Fried Pickles

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Breading

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Dredge the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the coated pickle slices to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.

Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, and fresh lemon juice until well blended.

  2. 8

    Taste and Adjust

Add salt to taste and stir well. Adjust seasoning as desired.

  3. 9

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the dipping sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
