Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Use your fingers to press the seasoning into the meat.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steaks

Preheat your grill to high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the steak to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).

  4. 4

    Rest the Steaks

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into long, thin strips to create fries.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. In a large pot, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  4. 8

    Flavor the Fries

While the fries are still hot, mince the garlic cloves and sprinkle them over the fries along with salt. Toss to coat evenly.

  5. 9

    Garnish

Chop the fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the garlic fries for added flavor and color.
