Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Drizzle olive oil over both sides of the steaks. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, ensuring an even coating.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 232-260°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Once the grill is hot, place the ribeye steaks on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Flip the steaks and add fresh rosemary on top. Grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust time according to your desired doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until creamy and smooth.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested ribeye steak and serve it alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes. Optionally garnish with additional rosemary.
