Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press the mint leaves to release their essential oils, mixing them with the sugar. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much; just press enough to impart flavor.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the glass or shaker. If desired, you can also drop in the spent lime halves for added flavor. Mix the muddled mint, sugar, and lime juice together, ensuring the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add Rum

Pour the white rum into the glass or shaker, combining it with the mint, lime, and sugar mixture. Stir gently to mix the ingredients together.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, either crushed or whole, depending on your preference. Make sure the ice is packed well to keep the drink chilled.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Gently pour the club soda over the ice, filling the glass. This will help to keep the drink refreshing and light.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy your refreshing mojito!
