Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid & Bake

Pour the water and half of the BBQ sauce into the skillet with the brisket. Cover tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.

  4. 4

    Prepare Jalapeños

While the brisket is baking, slice the jalapeños in half and remove the seeds if desired. Set aside.

  5. 5

    Finish the Brisket

After 4 hours, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes. Slice against the grain.

  6. 6

    Serve

To serve, top the sliced brisket with crumbled goat cheese and the remaining BBQ sauce. Garnish with the prepared jalapeños.
