Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gorgonzola Compound Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, crumbled gorgonzola cheese, and chopped fresh herbs. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to parchment paper, roll into a log, and refrigerate until firm.

  2. 2

    Cook the NY Strip Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the NY strip steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your preferred doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare Mashed Potatoes

Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Mash the potatoes with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until creamy and smooth.

  4. 4

    Sauté Seasonal Vegetables

In a skillet, add a little olive oil and sauté your choice of seasonal vegetables over medium heat until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

    Plate the Dish

On a large plate, serve the mashed potatoes, topped with the cooked NY strip steak. Add the sautéed seasonal vegetables on the side. Finish with a slice of the gorgonzola herbed compound butter on top of the steak.
