Pasta and Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Meat
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions, celery, and carrots. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 3
Brown the Meat
Add ground beef, veal, and pork to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- 4
Combine with Marinara
Pour in the homemade marinara sauce and chopped basil. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 5
Toss the Pasta
Add the cooked rigatoni to the sauce and meat mixture. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- 6
Serve
Plate the Bolognese pasta and top each serving with a generous dollop of whipped ricotta. Garnish with additional basil if desired.
