Waffle Batter
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 2
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 3
Cook the Waffles
Pour the recommended amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron and close the lid. Cook until the waffles are golden and crisp, about 5 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.
- 4
Prepare Strawberries
While the waffles are cooking, clean and slice fresh strawberries. You can sweeten them with a little sugar if desired.
- 5
Serve
Serve the waffles warm, topped with sliced strawberries and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
