Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it's hot enough for baking the muffins.

  2. 2

    Prepare Muffin Tin

Grease a muffin tin with butter or cooking spray, or line the muffin cups with paper liners.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vegetable oil, and honey (or maple syrup) until smooth.

  3. 5

    Combine Both Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.

Baking

  1. 6

    Fill Muffin Tin

Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

  2. 7

    Bake Muffins

Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.

  3. 8

    Cool

Once baked, remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
