Prepare the custard mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Soak the bread
Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Allow the bread to soak for about 2-3 minutes.

Cook the French toast
In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, place 2-3 soaked slices of bread in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.

Serve the French toast warm with your choice of toppings such as fresh seasonal fruits, syrup, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
