Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso or strong coffee and let it cool. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
- 3
Mix Mascarpone
In another bowl, gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill
Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- 7
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
