Chocolate Lava Cake Ingredients
Method
Directions to Make Chocolate Lava Cake
- 1
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 3
Mix Eggs and Sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together the large eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until thick and pale.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix until combined.
- 5
Fold in Flour
Sift the all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture and gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
