Cooking the Oatmeal

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of steel cut oats, 4 cups of water, and 1 tsp of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Allow the oats to simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until they reach your desired consistency.

Prepare the Toppings
While the oatmeal is cooking, gather the brown sugar, golden raisins, candied pecans, and whipped butter. You can also warm the golden raisins in a small pot with a bit of water if desired.
Serving the Oatmeal

Assemble the Dish
Once the oatmeal is cooked, remove it from heat. Spoon a desired amount into a bowl.

Top the oatmeal with 2 tbs of brown sugar, 1 cup of golden raisins, and 1 cup of candied pecans. Add 2 tbs of whipped butter on top.
