Ladyfingers

Method

Prepare Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso or strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If desired, stir in 3 tablespoons of coffee liqueur.

Make Mascarpone Cream

  1. 2

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a medium bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and thick.

  2. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Gradually fold in 16 oz of mascarpone cheese until smooth.

  3. 4

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  4. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream.

Chill and Serve

  1. 9

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 10

    Add Topping

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and add dark chocolate shavings if desired.
