Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients: sourdough bread, roast turkey slices, cheddar cheese, coleslaw mix, and thousand island dressing. If using butter, set it aside for later.
- 2
Assemble the Panini
Take two slices of sourdough bread and spread 1 tablespoon of thousand island dressing on each slice. Layer 4 ounces of roast turkey slices on one slice, followed by 2 ounces of cheddar cheese and ½ cup of coleslaw mix. Place the second slice of bread on top, dressing side down.
Cooking
- 3
Preheat the Panini Press
Preheat your panini press according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you don't have a panini press, you can use a skillet.
- 4
Butter the Bread (Optional)
If desired, spread butter on the outside of each slice of the assembled sandwich for a crispy texture.
- 5
Grill the Panini
Place the assembled sandwich in the preheated panini press and close it. Cook for about 4-6 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If using a skillet, press down with a spatula and flip halfway through to ensure even grilling.
Serving
- 6
Slice and Serve
Once cooked, remove the panini from the press and let it cool for a minute. Slice the panini in half diagonally and serve immediately, optionally with extra thousand island dressing on the side.
