Method
Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Preheat your grill to high heat. While the grill is heating, season both sides of the steak generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drizzle olive oil on both sides and rub it in to coat the steak evenly.
Grilling
- 2
Grill the Steak
Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes on one side, depending on your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, look for an internal temperature of about 130°F (54°C). Flip the steak using tongs and grill the other side for another 5-7 minutes. If desired, place a sprig of fresh rosemary and a tablespoon of butter on top of the steak for added flavor during the last minute of grilling.
Resting
- 3
Rest the Steak
Once the ribeye is cooked to your liking, remove it from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, ensuring it remains juicy and flavorful.
Serving
- 4
Slice and Serve
After resting, slice the ribeye against the grain into your desired thickness. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
