Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Fruits
Wash all fruits thoroughly. Slice the orange, lemon, and lime into thin rounds. Core and slice the apple into thin wedges. If using whole berries, leave them whole.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the sliced fruits and berries. Add the granulated sugar to the fruits and stir gently to combine. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the sugar to help release the fruit juices.
Combining Liquids
- 3
Add the Wine and Juices
Pour in the red wine and orange juice into the pitcher with the fruit mixture. Add the brandy to enhance the flavor. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Chill the Mixture
Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
Serving
- 5
Serve Over Ice
When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled sangria mixture over the ice, filling each glass about 2/3 full.
- 6
Top with Sparkling Water
Add a splash of sparkling water or club soda to each glass to add a refreshing fizz. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
