Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Meat

Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking the meat apart with a spoon, until browned, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

  5. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  6. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

  7. 7

    Combine and Serve

Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce until well combined. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
