Pizza Crust
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Dough
In a small bowl, mix warm water with active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Prepare the Crust
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch circle and place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 6
Add Toppings
Spread a thin layer of sauce (optional) on the crust. Layer the red and green onions, green bell pepper, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, black olives, and finally sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
- 7
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice, and serve hot.
