   Prepare the Prime Rib

   Season the prime rib with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sear in a hot skillet with a bit of olive oil until browned on all sides. Cook in an oven at 350°F (175°C) until desired doneness, about 20-25 minutes for medium rare. Let rest and slice thinly.

   Cook the Onions

   In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed and sauté the sliced onion over medium heat until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

   Prepare the Baguette

   Slice the baguette lengthwise and lightly toast it under the broiler until golden.

   Assemble the Sandwich

   Spread French mustard on the toasted baguette, layer with sliced prime rib, grilled onions, and provolone cheese.

   Make the Au Jus

   In a small pot, heat the beef broth over medium heat. Add any drippings from the cooked prime rib for added flavor.
