Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rib

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Remove the prime rib from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Rib

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil. Rub this mixture all over the prime rib evenly.

  3. 3

    Add Herbs

Chop the fresh rosemary and thyme and press them onto the seasoned prime rib.

  4. 4

    Roast the Rib

Place the seasoned prime rib in a roasting pan and add the beef broth to the bottom of the pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue cooking for about 1 hour and 15 minutes (or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare).

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides.
