Method

Dark Roast Ice Cubes

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

In a large bowl, combine the dark roast coffee grounds with 4 cups of boiling water. Stir well to ensure all the grounds are soaked.

  2. 2

    Steep

Let the coffee steep for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to intensify.

  3. 3

    Strain

After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter into a jug, discarding the grounds.

  4. 4

    Freeze

Pour the strained dark roast coffee into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.

Nitro Cold Brew

  1. 5

    Prepare the Coffee

In a large pitcher, combine the coarse ground coffee with 4 cups of cold water. Stir to mix thoroughly.

  2. 6

    Steep

Cover the pitcher and let the mixture steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

  3. 7

    Strain

After steeping, strain the cold brew through a coffee filter or fine mesh sieve to remove the grounds.

  4. 8

    Nitro Infusion

Pour the strained cold brew into a nitro coffee maker and charge with a nitrogen charger according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Espresso

  1. 9

    Brew Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew 2 shots of espresso using freshly ground espresso coffee beans. Allow to cool slightly.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Combine Ingredients

In a glass, add a few dark roast ice cubes. Pour the nitro cold brew over the ice cubes, filling the glass about three-quarters full.

  2. 11

    Add Espresso

Top the cold brew with the freshly brewed espresso shots. Optionally, stir gently to combine.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve immediately, and enjoy your Uncommon Iced beverage!
